Tower Bridge Home

This full renovation of a 1980s terraced family home sought to transform a dated and poorly insulated property into a calm, cohesive and acoustically refined environment tailored to modern family living.

A key early intervention involved a comprehensive acoustic upgrade. As is common with properties of this era, party walls and floor constructions offered limited sound separation. Enhanced acoustic treatments were integrated throughout, significantly improving privacy both between neighbouring homes and across internal levels.

The design concept centred on warmth, tactility and natural materiality. Walls and ceilings were finished in breathable lime plaster, introducing subtle texture and depth while improving environmental performance. Timber was used extensively throughout the home to create continuity and visual warmth, balancing the solidity of the architectural envelope with softness and character.

Bathrooms were conceived as restorative spaces, unified through the use of microcement for a seamless, contemporary finish. The principal bathroom was designed as a private spa experience, incorporating a whirlpool bath and integrated television, offering a luxurious yet functional retreat within the family setting.

The scope included full interior renovation, full M&E specification including underfloor heating throughout, air con in the loft, spatial refinement, material specification and coordination through to completion. The result is a thoughtfully considered home that combines technical performance with understated, natural elegance.
