Pret a Vivre Ltd project

Victorian Terrace, London SW12

Brief: This beautiful family home was being redecorated and our client wanted to bring her windows up to date asking for advice on the best way to dress her bay windows to balance the need for privacy, without losing daylight whilst offering good blackout protection in the bedroom.

The journey started by working in the showroom using large samples of Farrow & Ball paint colours along with sofa and carpet swatches. They wanted to bring some interest into the colour scheme they loved so we used leading edge borders in the Living Room curtains accompanied by a Roman blind in a Toiles de Mayenne patterned fabric. The same fabric was used for cushions, saving them the search for the right scatter cushions. When looking at fabrics for The Master Bedroom however our client saw the Toiles de Mayenne stripe and absolutely fell in love! It was an easy decision.

To maximise daylight the curtains to clear as much of the windows as possible. In the Master Bedroom needed good blackout protection so we fitted a tracked pole directly to the ceiling, projecting the curtains in front of the existing shutters and radiator. Due to an uneven ceiling in the Living Room we fit a 19mm wrought iron curtain pole on extension brackets to project in front of the radiator, with simple voile roller blinds offering daytime privacy.

The customers feel the chosen fabrics, colours and high end finish of their new curtains and blinds have greatly contributed to the smart end result of their redecoration project and we agree!
