Visualising Spatial Flow in a Contemporary Open-Plan Interior

Project Description

This concept explores how architectural visualisation can support the communication of spatial flow and atmosphere within a contemporary open-plan residential interior.

Open-plan layouts can be challenging for clients to interpret from drawings alone. The aim of this project was to translate the relationship between kitchen, dining and living areas into clear visual narratives that demonstrate how materials, lighting and furniture placement work together within the space.

A restrained palette of warm timber flooring, soft plaster tones and brushed brass accents was developed to create a calm and cohesive interior environment. Particular attention was given to layered lighting, including pendant, wall and integrated niche illumination, to illustrate how atmosphere can shift throughout the day.

The resulting visualisations provide a clear representation of the design intent, enabling spatial relationships, material harmony and lighting hierarchy to be understood before final decisions are made.
