Multipurpose Living Within A Highly Functional Kitchen
For this busy West London family with three children, a colourful and dynamic home to provide comfort, relaxation and also space for fun and entertainment was required. This meant our design studio could play with a combination of bold and pared-back interior design elements, juxtaposing minimalist and maximalist design throughout. The modern extension to the rear of the property replaced a much-loved and well-worn previous kitchen. Our clients felt as though their children had reached an age which meant they didn’t have to opt for non-problematic, child-proof design, and wanted a more sophisticated kitchen and dining area.
"Working with Brian is a joy. It is working with the epitome of enthusiasm, flair, creativity, reliability, efficiency and initiative. I absolutely love the work he has done for us, so much so that we are now using him again on another project. Brian makes building projects a pleasure as he is innovative, adaptable and resilient - an excellent project manager - level-headed and with a keen eye for detail. I feel that the home the Brian has created for us encapsulates our wishes and our personalities perfectly."
LW, Residential Client
A Bora professional induction hob with downdraft extractor was selected, so there was no need for a cumbersome extractor hood which would impede the view in the kitchen and disrupt the flow of clean lines.
The multi-functional space is ideal for eating, socialising, cooking, and even studying, with a designated desk space that’s perfect for taking care of a busy family schedule which requires plenty of forward-planning.
We incorporated four main materials: metal doors, deep rich wooden tones, matte lacquered doors as seen on the kitchen island and thin, minimal Caesarstone countertops.
A larger than life, maximalist approach lets any visitor know that this fun-loving family isn’t afraid to have fun.
Member’s club Soho House was the inspiration behind this guest bedroom. The overall atmosphere created is understated and serene.
Greens in different tones were used and the deep wood of the desk gives another nod to nature as well as adding a mature vibe to the bedroom.
