This ancient decorative technique ranges from realistically rendered woods to fantasy graining in a naïve style. Wood graining is often used to match-in or repair original decorative elements like doors, panels, and window casements but can also be applied to MDF and other inexpensive surfaces to create the illusion of fine woods like mahogany, walnut, maple and antique pine.
