York Minster

York Minster, an architectural masterpiece and one of the UK’s most iconic and historical landmark religious sites, stands as a testament to centuries of history, faith and artistry. Located in the heart of York, this magnificent cathedral attracts thousands of visitors and worshippers each year with its stunning Gothic spires and intricate stained glass windows, including the renowned Great East Window. York Minster Refectory, a brasserie-style restaurant housed in the grade 2 listed former York Minster School building dating back to the 1830s, now features a stunning living wall.

Measuring 100 m², Mobilane’s MobiPanel living wall creates a vibrant green backdrop to the outdoor seating area. This living wall is planted with a rich variety of pollinator-friendly plants, bringing plenty of color and biodiversity to the wall design. The team at York Minster recognized the benefits of living walls for improving acoustics and sustainability, making MobiPanel an intelligent choice to mitigate the sound of visitors enjoying al fresco dining. Additionally, the peace and solitude required in such a space is further supported by this installation, enhancing the overall atmosphere on the terrace.
