Garry Meakins Studio project
17th Century Townhouse - Wiltshire
By the early 18th century this house had become a prominent village pub, remaining so until the 1950’s. The current homeowners wanted to acknowledge and respect its history – and they also wanted to create a home appropriate for a busy, modern family.
Centuries of ad-hoc building work required sensitive adjustment throughout in order to maintain, and often re-instate, the charm and character of a building. In turn this allowed Garry to ensure architectural integrity was retained while adopting 21st century functionality and a timeless sense of quality.
