Carter Manor is a Grade II-listed property dating from 1848. The brief was to create a contemporary kitchen and dining space for owners who enjoy cooking and entertaining, while respecting the distinctive architecture of their historic home.

A restrained white palette and minimalist cabinetry introduce a clear contemporary character. A goalpost-style surround frames the recessed tall units, while a generous island provides preparation space and a natural gathering point. The layout establishes clear cooking and dining areas with comfortable circulation between them.

Calacatta quartz worktops bring expressive veining to the island and coffee station. Herringbone wood-effect porcelain flooring adds warmth and practicality, with underfloor heating beneath. Layered lighting supports kitchen tasks and highlights the original windows, connecting the new interior with the building’s period features.

The finished space balances the owners’ daily needs with the character of its architectural setting.
