Bramble House: Integrating Discreet Cooling and Home Automation with Calibre Climate, Equippd, Studio Jo Cowen, Joanna Plant Interiors and Element Construction
In this project, air conditioning and mechanical ventilation were integrated into a highly detailed residential refurbishment in coordination with Studio Jo Cowen, Joanna Plant, Element Construction and Equippd. The focus was on resolving the technical requirements of the system in a way that worked with the interior architecture, particularly within fitted joinery and other visually sensitive areas.
In the gym, the unit was integrated within the storage joinery, with supply air delivered from the top of the joinery and kept out of sight, while return air was handled through a discreet plinth slot incorporated into the existing design.
A similar approach was taken in Her dressing room, where the system was concealed within the joinery and coordinated so that air paths could be accommodated without disrupting the visual language of the space.
In His dressing room, the access panel was detailed as part of the fitted interior so that essential maintenance access could be retained without introducing a visibly separate technical element.
Client requirements for control integration were addressed in coordination with Equippd, with Polar Bear controllers selected as the most aesthetically appropriate option for the scheme.
