The client’s brief was for full architectural & interior design & decoration service to fully modernise & refurbish a one-bedroomed flat in Clapham, & further to add a loft-conversion housing a master bedroom & ensuite shower-room.

The kitchen was to remain at the heart of the house, designed to celebrate the traditional Edwardian features of the building, whilst fully modernised. We felt the landing needed to be minimal to act as breathing space between rooms and levels, from street to second floor.

The first floor required reconfiguration to take maximum advantage of natural daylight from East & West, and to provide a large space for entertaining guests, whilst allowing flexibility for the different areas to be used individually. Elements of humour and surprise, traditional & modern demanded interlinking in the decoration throughout.
