GAILOWIND | BESPOKE LUXURY RESIDENCE

Interior Architecture | Classical Opulence | Specialist Italian Craftsmanship

This distinctive private residence in Huddersfield was conceived around the client's appreciation of elaborate classical interiors, Italian luxury design and highly individual decorative detailing.

Working in collaboration with the appointed architect, Martin Nealon developed a comprehensive architectural and interior design scheme that reflected the client's personal vision of grandeur, combining classical European influences with specialist craftsmanship, bespoke architectural features and carefully selected luxury furnishings.

The design placed particular emphasis on creating impressive reception and entertaining spaces, balanced by more intimate areas for everyday family living.

Specialist Italian manufacturers and artisans were commissioned to produce bespoke furnishings and decorative architectural elements, ensuring consistency in the quality of materials, craftsmanship and detailing throughout the residence.

A defining feature of the interior is the extensive use of intricately inlaid marble flooring, individually designed and manufactured in Italy before being transported to the UK for installation. The elaborate stonework establishes a strong decorative identity within the principal rooms.

Architectural plaster mouldings were designed specifically for the property, incorporating classical motifs and ornamental detailing. These were individually manufactured and subsequently gilded with gold leaf on site, introducing richness and depth to the interior architecture.

Statement chandeliers, manufactured in Italy, were finished with Murano glass crystal, creating dramatic focal points within the principal reception spaces.

Throughout the property, the relationship between decorative finishes, architectural proportions, lighting and bespoke furnishings was carefully considered to create a unified design scheme.

The completed residence demonstrates Martin's ability to collaborate with architectural professionals while interpreting and delivering a highly individual client brief, coordinating specialist international manufacturers, craftspeople and complex decorative installations.

Above all, the project reflects a fundamental principle of Angel Martin Design: a successful interior should express the personality, aspirations and individual tastes of its owner rather than impose the designer's personal aesthetic.
