Elevated Living: Integrated Air Conditioning to a Stunning Private Penthouse with Calibre Climate, Hone Studio Architecture and Tracy Holliday Interior Design
On this project, the air conditioning strategy was developed to support a clear interior objective: to keep the installation as minimally visible as possible within a large open-plan penthouse, while responding to the scale of the glazing and the prominence of the surrounding views.
The wider fit-out used a high level of material refinement throughout, so the environmental approach needed to sit comfortably within that language rather than introduce obvious service elements.
In the main living area, a perimeter slot detail was selected as the primary method of air distribution. This allowed cooling to be delivered discreetly around the edge of the room while also reinforcing the architectural reading of the space.
Rather than interrupting the interior with visible grilles or wall-mounted interventions, the slot detail provided a subtle way to frame the room and draw emphasis towards the long glazed elevations and the views beyond.
The result was a solution suited to the openness of the plan and the quality of the interior finish, with the technical requirements resolved in a way that remained visually disciplined and appropriate to the overall scheme.
