Ivy Cottage — Macclesfield, Cheshire

Ivy Cottage reinterprets a traditional English cottage for contemporary family living. The scheme encompasses the entrance and circulation spaces, living room, snug, family bathroom and principal suite, connected by earthy colours, natural textures and carefully selected lighting.

In the living room, velvet curtains, patterned textiles and bronze lighting create warmth without overwhelming the cottage proportions. The snug offers a quieter setting for relaxation, while consistent detailing connects the rooms through the hallways and staircase.

The family bathroom combines a freestanding bath and generous wet-room shower with a natural-edge oak vanity and petrified wood side table. In the principal bedroom, a deep-buttoned linen headboard and soft pink curtains establish a restful atmosphere. A compact en-suite makes considered use of space through a floating vanity, recessed mirror and integrated storage.

The result is a welcoming family home that retains its cottage character.
