KENSINGTON TOWNHOUSE

Henry Prideaux Interior Design was enlisted to create a contemporary home designed for modern family life with spaces dedicated to the children (that would stand the test of time) along with plenty of sophisticated rooms with eye-catching detail for the grownups to enjoy when entertaining or simply resting and recharging. The house was to retain much of its charm by restoring and enhancing some of the original interior architecture which was then decorated using a range of bespoke finishes including; polished plaster, specialist paint finishes, parquet timber flooring, figured sycamore veneer with polished metal brass inlay for fitted joinery and hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper in custom colourways. Beautiful hand-selected marble including a moody Port Black in the guest WC, serene book-matched Volakas in the master bathroom and cool Tundra Grey for the floor of the entrance hall, made bold statements throughout the house. The colour palette featured lots of calming greys and silvers but was enlivened with punches of colour and a healthy dose of texture in the fabrics selected for upholstery, cushions and window treatments. Large, abstract artwork was chosen to punctuate the walls in key areas and show-stopping, decorative lighting installed to finish each room.
