Renovation of grand staircase and hallways

In the leafy streets of Hale, this Victorian Manor house deserved a grand entrance and the renovation of the entrance hall, hallways and staircase provided the home owners with just that.

The biggest challenge was the lack of natural lighting and the elongated, fairly narrow hallway. Selecting light finishes and completely altering the lighting layout, in addition to laying large format porcelain floor tiles from a stunning collection of antique limestone by Florim, created a light-filled area.

Walls were dressed with architectural details by Orac Decor and a limited collection of fine art, the bronze picture frames complementing the bronze wall lights by Porta Romana. Lighting was key throughout but real drama was created in the panelled entrance hall walls which feature a solid glass drop wall lights with antique brass arms, and a chandelier with 34 cast bronze buds, each housing solid glass drop. The grand staircase sees an exquisite bespoke chandelier displaying 100 bronze buds. Two rows of bronze buds, each carefully handcrafted by skilled artisans, in an organic swoop cluster design, hang effortlessly in front of antique mirror panelling.
