Repeat client Alex engaged us to help overhaul his Edwardian terraced property in Leyton. The house had been neglected and was in a poor state, needing significant work. Reconfiguration of the layouts on both ground and first floors resulted in more open and practical living areas and bedrooms. Edwardian details were reinstated throughout in the woodwork, moulding, with a reclaimed fireplace in the main bedroom.
The project focus was to create a welcoming and beautiful home for Alex’s growing family. As is the case with all projects we complete, sustainability was a key focus. Here we facilitated re-use of the large bifold patio doors from strip out of another renovation property (with the owner’s approval) – reducing cost and waste in this phase of works.
Lighting was important, with layering of ambient, focal and mood lighting carefully considered throughout. A colour palette of muted greens, peach, off whites and earthy black, combined with brass fixtures throughout, adds a warm and contemporary touch to this traditional property.
The client is extremely pleased with the results of this phase of works- the property is already a beautiful and practical family home with fabulous character and period features.
