Riber Castle

A landmark of Matlock, a Grade II* Victorian Castle at Riber. That has been completely restored and designed to create 26
unique apartments, along with shared common areas and gardens. Atop a commanding hill overlooking the Derwent Valley, Riber Castle stands as a striking example of Victorian Gothic
architecture. Originally built in 1862 by John Smedley as a private residence, the castle has since served various purposes,
from a boys' school to a wildlife park, and now stands partially derelict. The aim to preserve and celebrate the castle’s historic
character while reimagining its interior as a series of refined, modern apartments that offer both architectural charm and
contemporary comfort. The development will marry heritage conservation with luxury living, creating a one-of-a-kind
residential offering in the heart of the Peak District.
