Get inspired with three years of award winning commercial projects

The BIID Interior Design Awards recognises projects from all sectors, of all shapes, sizes, and budgets. Here we celebrate some stand out projects from the past three years, that represent non-residential interior design.

We will be celebrating residential interiors in a later article, so if you have a residential project, we'd still love to see it entered into this years Interior Design Awards.

2024 Central London Winner -  DaeWha Kang Design

The redesign of St Andrew's Church in Holborn carefully balanced restoration of a period property with modernising to meet the needs of the community that the space serves. Functionality and accessibility had to be considered as well as paying attention to working in a sustainable way. The result is a stunning space that highlights heritage features and serves as a functional community space.

2023 North West Winner - The Artistry House Interiors

The Manchester Museum is another project that centred around how it serves it's community but is the smallest project on the list at 700 sqm. The project is multi purpose and multi sensory and fosters a warm and inviting environment that encourages learning.

2024 Midlands And East Anglia Shortlisted - The Care Home Interiors Company

From the smallest on our list to the largest, The Deer Park Care Home sat at 3492 sqm and was a project that highlighted clever design to accommodate the home's elderly residents. Natural light and noise reduction are used to improve accessibility but without sacrificing a luxury feel.

2022 Scotland, Wales & NI Winner - Black Sheep

The Awards celebrates the best of British design from the south to The Glenlivet Visitor Centre in the Cairngorms national park in Scotland. This design was a blend of natural materials that reflect the surrounding landscape with putting the Glenlivet brand and visitor experience at the heart of the space.

2024 Midlands and East Anglia Shortlisted - Lungfish Architects

The second project from the Midlands on this list is the Brocks Hill redevelopment. The judges were impressed with how smart design solutions and adaptive reuse helped the council meet their sustainability goals on a comparatively smaller budget.
