Victorian barn conversion

This beautiful open-plan space used to be an old crumbling Devonshire dairy and cow barn. The brief was to create a luxury rural retreat to be used as a holiday cottage, with bespoke interiors, bursting with playfulness. 

Starting with a blank canvas is a designer's dream. This canvas is complete with four double bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a huge open-plan double-storey living area, providing both a challenge and an opportunity. 

Zoning the open-plan area and taking into account the acoustics in such a big space, was key. The room was anchored on a palette of navy and copper. The copper table was custom-made to make best use of the space. There's even a resident cow - Ermintrude! 

Each bedroom needed its own personality, while being linked together by using the same floral pattern in different colourways.
