The Willows involved transforming the client’s childhood cottage into a home for a new chapter of life. The brief was to extend and reconfigure the original two-bedroom property into a comfortable three-bedroom home while retaining its personal significance.

Working alongside the architect and builder, Ingrid developed connected kitchen, dining and sitting areas with generous glazing and a warm, natural palette. A bespoke kitchen combines painted cabinetry, marble waterfall worktops and solid oak detailing. A concealed study within full-height cabinetry allows the living space to adapt between work and relaxation.

The kitchen, study cabinetry and oak staircase were handcrafted by an artisan in nearby Bollington. The former garage became an entrance hall, utility room and guest WC, with integrated storage and space-saving doors making careful use of the available area. The result is a contemporary home that remains rooted in the client’s history.
