Inclusive Design for Disabilities & Healthcare in Residential & Commercial Interiors
Have you ever had a client with a disability? In residential and commercial interiors, it is vital that disabilities, both physical and mental, are taken into account. A broad field, and one that presents multiple challenges, design for disabilities and healthcare is one that all designers should have a basic knowledge of.
In this
introductory guide to designing for disabilities and healthcare, expert Gilly Craft will talk
delegates through its basic principles, including infection control and the various types of disability that must be considered,
touching on the various specialisms that a healthcare designer works with.
With an extensive portfolio of work in the healthcare sector, Gilly will demonstrate various case studies of her work, explaining her design decisions, legal and health & safety considerations, which can differ significantly from other residential and commercial design sectors. This CPD Event will focus on the following areas:
- Considerations for disabilities in the home
- Hospitals and Hospices
- Infection Control
- Accessibility
