Life After Graduation

Event date

Graduated or approaching graduation and feeling a little apprehensive?

Join our panel discussion with practicing interior designers and members of the British Institute of Interior Design. This informative webinar will give you an insight into the journey of three interior designers from graduation to their current careers in residential and commercial interiors, as well as why they chose to join the professional body that represents their industry, the BIID.

This is a free event for BIID Student members and Associate and Provisional Associate members in their first year of practice.

Chair:

Anna Burles BIID Registered Interior Designer Run for the Hills

Anna Burles is the founder of Run For The Hills, a creative West London interior design studio known for original, award-winning work across residential and hospitality spaces. With projects in the UK and abroad, clients include Ellie Goulding and brands like Kricket and Tivoli Cinemas. Anna is a BIID Registered Interior Designer, lectures at KLC School of Design, and blends vintage style with bold, contemporary design to create truly unique interiors.

Panel Members:

Omar Bhatti

Omar Bhatti BIID Registered Interior Designer Space Shack

Discarding meaningless decoration, Founder & Creative Director Omar Bhatti puts more emphasis on the relationship between people, culture, activities and environment and knows clever spatial configuration like no one else. Establishing a sense of spaciousness, optimising comfort and convenience and enhancing daylight penetration Omar has transformed projects and united spaces across London and beyond.

After studying architecture at London Met, Omar started his career in a small architecture firm but quickly shifted his career path to interiors. Forging his own path in 2016, Omar and his team have completed dozens of full renovations and interior design projects in London, adapting complex and frustrating spaces for purposeful use. Today, Space Shack juggles luxury projects that run the gamut from minimalist contemporary to idiosyncratic flash, always staying true to the client’s individual style and personality, whilst the essence of Space Shack is woven in throughout the design journey.

Susan Chesney

Susan Cheseny, BIID Associate Susan Chesney Interiors

Susan is the owner and creative director of her Chelsea Harbour–based, award-winning interior design studio, where she creates elegant, layered interiors defined by atmosphere, individuality and a thoughtful use of colour. With a global perspective and a strong appreciation for craftsmanship, timeless materials and considered detail, she designs high-end residential spaces that feel both elevated and deeply livable. Recently recognised as one of Homes & Gardens’ Rising Stars, Susan was also invited as a guest collaborator for Farrow & Ball’s Spring Design Series and teaches a masterclass for Decor Net Academy, an Istanbul-based interior design training platform.
