ABOUT MOOR PARK
Originally built in the late 17th century for the Duke of Monmouth, Moor Park was transformed into one of Britain's finest Palladian mansions in the early 18th century by architect Giacomo Leoni. The house is also renowned for its magnificent decorative interiors, including painted schemes by Sir James Thornhill, one of Britain's most celebrated Baroque artists.
Today, the Grade I listed mansion is home to Moor Park Golf Club, where its exceptional architecture, historic interiors and decorative craftsmanship have been carefully preserved while adapting the building for modern use. This guided tour offers a rare opportunity to experience these remarkable spaces first-hand while gaining insight into the challenges of conserving one of the country's most significant heritage buildings.
