Sleep Event 2016
Awake to Sleep 2016
Sleep, Europe’s definitive hotel design and development event, welcomes BIID members to London’s Business Design Centre on 22-23 November. Interior designers will discover plentiful inspiration and ideas to awaken their imaginations, curiosity and senses throughout the Exhibition, Conference and ground-breaking design installations. This year sees the most international line-up yet for the Sleep Set design competition through a pioneering partnership that explores the science behind understanding today’s diverse hotel guests. The conference line-up too provides a global perspective on the constantly evolving hotel landscape with celebrated names from the UK, US and Europe. And, to top it all, an exhibition of 160 leading contract suppliers will showcase the finest new products to transform your projects.
The 2016 “Sleep Experience” bar is designed by
Superfutures in collaboration with visual artist Tupac Martir and food conceptualists
Studio Appetit, and promises a sensory journey in which the bar’s design will further analyse the five tribes
interpreted in the neighbouring Sleep Set bedrooms.
Illustrious names speaking at this year’s Conference include: design legend Adam Tihany, Clodagh, Peter & Signe from Space Copenhagen, Vince Stroop from New York-based Stonehill & Taylor, along with Sharan Pasricha, CEO & Founder of the Hoxton Hotel brand, to mention a few. Not to be missed is Sleep Essentials, where experts from a range of specialisms circulate from table to table to answer your questions and provide insight and inspiration on topics such as lighting design, F&B concepts, music curation, landscape design.
Prominent brands exhibiting this year include: Morgan Furniture, Chelsom Lighting, Style Library Contract, Heathfield, Hypnos, Bette UK, Dornbracht, GROHE, Hansgrohe and Johnson Tiles who will be joined by newcomers such as Designers Guild, Cole & Son, James UK and Lelièvre. ‘Spaces’ is a collection of stands that will be designed as hotel environments, with suppliers Roca, Elegant Clutter, Fiora, Serralunga, Gervasoni, Geometric Furniture and Jaquar amongst others creating inspiring installations.
