Surface Design Show 2023

More than 180 companies and organisations will be exhibiting at SDS23, all keen to meet and inspire the audience with their creativity and quality.

Additionally, there is a content programme consisting of 18 Main Stage presentations and 10 Gallery Stage presentations; over 32 New Talents debuting at SDS; the Surface Spotlight Live ‘library’ of new and innovative materials and Squire & Partners’ Stone Tapestry featuring natural stone from around the world. There will be a wide variety of topics and sessions including debates around sustainability, Legends Live interviews and the Surface Design Awards.

BIID Presentation: Designing with Culture in Mind

Culture is a shared set of values, beliefs and experiences, which are fundamental to consider when approaching a design project. This discussion will explore how culture shapes design and why designers should reflect their client’s customs, traditions and practices when designing their projects. The panel will discuss the importance of designing with culture in mind and how designers can incorporate this into their design schemes.
