Professor Hilary Dalke
Professor Hilary Dalke is a leading designer and consultant in the field of environmental and sensory design. Her latest work encompasses the functionality of colour within new sustainable builds, with a particular emphasis on the design needs of people with special needs (ranging from autism through to dementia).
She is director of Kingston University's Design Research Centre and Design for Environments - a recognised centre of excellence on colour design and lighting.
Rodney Fitch
Retail design guru Rodney Fitch founded design consultancy Fitch in 1972, before leaving at the end of 2009. He now works in higher education and as an independent advisor and consultant. Rodney was appointed Commander of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1990 for his 'influence on the British Design Industry'.
Lee Penson
Lee Penson from leading architecture and interior design studio Penson will be talking about his practice's involvement in workplace design with a portfolio including major HQs including Bloomberg TV, Sky and Google.
Charles Jencks
Charles Jencks, a trustee and Co-founder of Maggie's Centres. Charles will explain how Maggie's Centres have created uplifting environments for cancer care, designed by some of the world's most renowned architects.
Edwin Heathcote
Edwin Heathcote is an architect, designer and writer living and
working in London. He has been the architecture and design critic of The
Financial Times since 1999 and is the author of over a dozen books on
architecture, culture and London. His most recent books include The
Architecture of Hope (with Charles Jencks) and The Meaning of Home, an
exploration of the symbolism and associations underlying everyday
domestic design.
In 2001 he co-founded architectural hardware manufacturer Ize and he is currently working on establishing an online archive of critical writing on design.
Tim Mutton
Tim Mutton is the founder and CEO of Blacksheep, the award-winning, international and independent design agency.
Winner of the Wave of Future Award US 2012 for hospitality design, Tim is considered a leading authority on the hospitality sector. He combines a passion for F&B design with in-depth sector knowledge of the practical, business and operational aspects of a business.
He has a very distinctive approach, believing that 'the experience' is at the core, with design used as a tool to engineer an experience. Tim is a firm believer in the totality of brand and believe the F&B sector is driven by people, their experiences and interaction with a brand. His philosophy place places people at the centre and his mantra is 'people, growth, results'.
Tim has been a speaker and panellist at many high profile events for bars, clubs, hotels and restaurants. In 2009 he was invited to be a judge at the Sleep Awards, which encompasses the biggest names in the global hotel industry as well as The Menu for Monocle. He is a lecturer at KLC and the Inchbald School of Design.
