Park grove design shortlisted in the international hotel & property awards 2014
BIID Member Lori Pinkerton-Rolet of Park Grove
Design has been shortlisted for the International Hotel and Property Awards
2014 in the ‘Restaurant within a Hotel’ category.
Park Grove was charged by the Highbullen Hotel Golf and Country Club to bring
character and personality to their Devon View Restaurant, which had become
dated and unwelcoming.
With views over Exmoor and Dartmoor, the Devon
View Restaurant was transformed to provide an intimate yet versatile dining
experience, which could be used for other functions such as weddings.
The space was redefined using joinery
elements, ceiling detail and feature flooring to create a sense of arrival
while guiding guests to the restaurant’s magnificent views. Guests are welcomed
by a feature textured glass panel with the restaurant’s name back-lit by either
natural daylight or incandescent lighting at night. Central areas were given
large round tables with low hung chandeliers, which smaller tables around the
periphery were positioned to take advantage of these views, while the custom
carpet design also directs attention toward the windows.
Congratulations Lori and Park Grove for being shortlisted for your work on this new
“destination dining” experience. Best of luck next year!
