Professional Indemnity Insurance Scheme for BIID members
The BIID offers its members the BIID Professional Indemnity Insurance Scheme, which has been arranged in conjunction with Trafalgar Risk Management and Parliament Hill Ltd, taking into consideration the broad range of duties and activities undertaken by BIID members. In these times of high consumer awareness, clients will not hesitate to pursue a claim if they feel that they have received sub-standard service. This cover will offer you protection for negligent advice, errors or breach or duty of care – and in some instances this can be a stipulation from your client.
Trafalgar Risk Management says, ‘Our scheme for members of the British Institute of Interior Design has been designed to ensure we provide the cover at premiums specially agreed with Insurers. Combining this with our unique, streamlined purchasing facility, we feel we have made the buying of insurance as cost-effective, simple and easy as possible - the process from start to finish can take less than 5 minutes!
'Working as a freelancer or a consultant, our Professional Indemnity and Public Liability policies should be of real interest to you, but, as each individual risk can vary, we strongly suggest you read the policy terms and conditions before buying cover.
'We use single source underwriting for each specific section. That is to say we do not obtain quotes on each individual enquiry, but have in place pre-arranged premiums and cover specifically brokered with one insurer. We then continue to monitor the competitiveness of our underwriter during the year and any adjustments, or change of underwriter will occur at the end of our scheme policy period.
'In addition to the bespoke rating and buying process, the scheme is backed by a National Price Promise – if you can find the same cover for less within 14 days, Trafalgar Risk Management will try their best to match the price and Parliament Hill Ltd will give you a cheque for £25!*’
BIID members are free to choose their own provider for Professional Indemnity Insurance, however this scheme offers:
- Backed by a price promise.
- Cover in a few moments (subject to acceptance) – get a quote in under 3 minutes
- Options for Employers & Public Liability (only available in conjunction with Professional Indemnity)
- Full policy wording & summary located online (Print your own policy document)
Cover is subject to final acceptance by the underwriters.
