Interior Design Philosophy

I am particularly interested in the architectural and contextual value of a particular space. Ideas are often generated from an architectural feature or a particular characteristic or feeling of a space along side meeting the clients brief. The key feature may not necessarily be within the room it could be a view or vista.

Another main objective, equally important, relates to the more practical requirements of organising layouts appropriate for use and life style. It is always important to balance the values of practicality with the aesthetics.

Along side this I believe a space needs to feel personal to the client, they have to feel ownership of their space, to adopt it and inhabit it. The process we go through will be an evolution of discussions and ideas. A home is deeply personal.

At Yiangou Interiors we specialise in all aspects of Interior design. We feel we are particularly strong at space planning, allowing you to maximise the potential of your space. We will generally create and agree layouts and then provide working drawings, including lighting and electrical layouts. In most projects we will research, agree and specify all the finishes, the bathroom layouts and sanitary ware specifications. We design and procure bespoke items of joinery, including kitchens, dressing rooms, wine cellars etc. We then can oversee the installation of these items on site. Alongside this we provide interior schemes, proposing colours, fabrics, window treatments, furniture, light fittings and art and overseeing the procurement and installation of these.
