Zulufish Interiors

Profile

Caroline Milns is a talented and distinctive interior designer with studios based in West London. Having worked as a textile and interior designer for over 20 years, Caroline launched award-winning Zulufish Interiors in 2013.

"Caroline is exceptionally talented at creating warm and welcoming homes that combine simplicity and clean lines, with unexpected twists and inspiring ideas. She is brilliant at coming up with original ways to bring in the light so that homes feel calm and well proportioned, even where space may be tight. Her attention to detail is awe inspiring, yet her homes feel as if they have come together organically but never contrived.”  Mary Weaver, Houses Editor, Living Etc.

A deep love of colour and textiles informs Caroline's design; she creates architectural, textured schemes that breathe life into an interior. Her textile background and industry knowledge allows her to smart source the finest materials at the most competitive prices, and she prides herself on being able to listen to her clients' needs and translate their vision into beautifully thought-out spaces, unique to them.

After starting her design career designing fabrics for Monkwell fabrics, she rose to the top of the John Lewis Home Design Studio, managing a team of designers and creating innovative product and textile design.

In 2007 Caroline retrained in interior design at Helen Green and moved on to work for high-end residential specialists Mcvitty Interior Consultants. From here it was a natural step to set up Zulufish Interiors where she strives to create timeless design & inspiring interiors.

Zulufish Interiors is a sister company to Zulufish, a design and build consultancy. The in-house architectural design team, headed up by RIBA architect Patrick Owens, is hugely experienced in remodelling homes and commercial spaces of all shapes and sizes. The architectural and interior design teams work seamlessly together, layering the finishes over the innovative spatial planning.

Zulufish also design and manufacture all their own bespoke joinery in their UK-based joinery workshop and have extensive experience in custom-make kitchens, media units, libraries, dressers, cabinets, vanities and bespoke furniture.

Caroline is as often found scouring flea markets as well as new showrooms, hotels and restaurants for inspiration, and takes great pride in staying at the forefront of trends and new technologies. She works with trusted experts in lighting, home automation and glazing, and of course has a vast pool of in-house construction knowledge and techniques through Zulufish Residential.
