Inside Stories: Designer Case Studies, session 1
BIID members are invited to attend the latest in our Inside Stories: Designer Case Studies series.
Members will be treated to two inspiring case studies presented by Interior Designers, Ed Plumb and Sarah Ellison. This event is a fantastic opportunity for BIID members to gain insight from two fellow practising designers into real life projects.
With our BIID award-winning speakers providing honest ‘behind the scenes’ stories, guests will obtain knowledge of the practicalities of delivering a successful project, what challenges our speakers encountered, how they dealt with them, and what they were most excited about during their projects. As the speakers share some top tips for working on various design projects, you can be sure to leave this webinar informed and inspired as you look forward to your own upcoming projects.

Over the 90-minute webinar, the designers will introduce their projects and will be available for a short Q&A each following their presentation.

Judges praised the imaginative upholstery, wall finishes, and material choices, creating a captivating atmosphere and enhancing functionality. The result respects the building's shape and history while breathing new life into the space.
Despite complex design challenges and pandemic related delays, this captivating space has been designed with diverse and compelling zones, which thoughtfully incorporate historical elements while preserving the space's uniqueness. The judges admired how the design maintains consistency across diverse architectural buildings, blending rustic simplicity with playful elements. Resourceful use of vintage and reclaimed furniture adds character and sustainability. Skilled resourcefulness, room planning, and a harmonious blend of materials and craftsmanship create a cohesive and award-worthy environment.
Profile
Sarah is the founder and creative director of London based interior design studio Frank & Faber who work across high end residential, hospitality and commercial projects.
At Frank & Faber, they take a collaborative approach, and each project is uniquely tailored to the tastes and lifestyle needs of their clients. Although not slavish to a period or aesthetic, their projects are unified by an innate warmth and character, an eclectic mix of old, intentional textural variation, consistent use of quality materials, and a bold approach to colour. While attention is paid to every detail, the culminating look is intentionally uncontrived, lived-in, and evolved rather than overtly designed.
Their sustained principals of authenticity, quality, and people-cantered design have won them a broad range of clients across both the residential and commercial sectors, both in London and throughout the UK. Recent projects include an award-winning boutique hotel, a Michelin-starred restaurant, a Georgian Estate, and a Neo-Georgian new build in Hampstead Garden Suburbs.
